What's New

We’ve expanded further

This year 2012 our office has become larger. Our waiting rooms have expanded, creating a comfortable space to wait while being dilated. These waiting areas contain 5 wide screen TV’s, comfortable chairs and couches, and colourful pictures; in some rooms even exhibiting some of Dr. Rabinovitch’s own photography. Our testing facility has been updated allowing for better flow during testing procedures. We have also added fundus photography and an OPD machine to our arsenal of testing. Our full equipped procedure room allows patients to have minor procedures and lasers done in office.

We do Botox and Juvederm

Did you know that Botox was created by Canadian Ophthalmologists? Following this tradition Dr. Waisberg is now doing cosmetic and therapeutic botox for patients who want younger looking skin, have blepharospasm, or suffer from hyperhydrosis. He also treats with Juvederm to help your deep set wrinkles disappear.  If you’re interested in booking a consultation please contact us.

Advanced Corneal Surgery

Corneal surgery and transplant procedures are constantly improving to be safer and help patients recover more quickly. Some of these corneal technologies now available at North Toronto Eye Care include:

  • DSEK corneal transplants, which remove only part of the cornea
  • IntraLase™ femtosecond laser (IntraLase-Enabled Keratoplasty, or IEK), which creates a more precise, safe transplant and can help people with cloudy corneas recover their vision more quickly and with better results
  • Innovative options for treatment of keratoconus (thinning of the central cornea); now we can help keratoconus patients prevent the condition's progress with C3R Cross-Linking Technology, and possibly even avoid corneal transplants with Intacs.

Lucentis treatment for wet age-related macular degeneration
(wet AMD)

  • Wet AMD is a chronic condition for which there is no cure. But with Lucentis, a medication that is injected into the eye, it can be managed and help you to maintain or improve your vision and enjoy a good quality of life for longer.

Announcements - Office Expansion

We are very excited about our new office expansion in 2009. We have added 1200 square feet of space, featuring four new examining rooms, a second spacious waiting room and a completely renovated technology suite featuring the latest in ocular diagnostic technology, including our new visual field analyzer, and the latest time domain OCT Cirrus tomographer for Retinal and optic nerve head analysis. Our research lane is buzzing with activity from our three FDA clinical studies and our minor surgical suite has made it possible for us to perform minor operations right here in our office. The waiting rooms feature over 75 comfortable chairs and a brighter engaging environment with two large flat screen TV's, offering an opportunity for interactive learning.

Introducing OSCAR!

In Sept 2007, our office converted entirely to an electronic health record management system called OSCAR. With this exciting, new, advanced charting and communication system, we can access your file with the touch of a finger. We can send reports to your family physician within a few minutes of your visit and we can arrange appointments with other specialists also in minutes. You never have to worry about lost charts, as our system is backed up via online offsite data link to secure storage facility. We can create electronic prescriptions, communicate with our front desk through a unique "tickler" system, and most importantly document your visit in an enriched easy to search format.

Speak with your doctor about your options. Seeing eye to eye on your treatment choices is a vital step in selecting the one that is right for you.
