Dr. Patricia Hinton graduated from the University of Western Ontario Medical School in 1980 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Sunnybrook Hospital in 1982. In 1985, she completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario, Medical School. There, she received the Dr. Wing Chan award in 1984, the Toronto alumni prize and the Gordon Kelly award in 1985. She was presented with the Duncan Jamieson Memorial Prize in her final year for achieving the highest standing.
In 1987, she joined York Finch General Hospital and went into private practice in 1997. She has been providing her services to the CNIBs low vision clinic since 1991. Dr. Hinton also works on a part time basis at the Department of Aviation Ophthalmology at the National Defense and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine.
