Dr. Hershenfeld completed 4 years of medical school and 2 years of internal medicine at McGill University in Montreal. He then completed Ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto and subsequently worked as a clinical associate at Toronto Western Hospital.
In 1992 he started a private practice in comprehensive Ophthalmology in Thornhill, which operated for 28 years and was medical staff at North York General Hospital.
Dr. Hershenfeld is a member of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Ontario Medical Association. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a co-author of clinical research papers published in the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, and British Journal of Ophthalmology.
