Dr. Taylor Lukasik is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and advanced anterior segment surgery, with expertise in glaucoma, cataract and refractive procedures. He is a staff ophthalmologist at Michael Garron Hospital.
Dr. Lukasik completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto, followed by fellowship training in Glaucoma and Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Ike Ahmed. Through this internationally recognized fellowship, he gained extensive exposure to advanced and challenging glaucoma, cataract and anterior segment cases.
Dr. Lukasik has extensive training in the medical, laser and surgical management of glaucoma. His surgical practice includes minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, minimally invasive bleb surgery and trabeculectomy. He also has a particular interest in refractive and complex cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, and combined cataract and glaucoma procedures.
Before residency, Dr. Lukasik completed a research fellowship with Dr. Ike Ahmed His research has examined glaucoma implants, microshunt outflow, cataract surgery and intraocular-lens technology. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international ophthalmology meetings.
Dr. Lukasik strives to provide thoughtful, personalized and approachable care. He believes patients should have a clear understanding of their condition and the treatment options available to them, particularly when considering cataract or glaucoma surgery. He works closely with each patient to develop a treatment plan tailored to their visual needs, lifestyle and individual goals.
Outside of ophthalmology, Dr. Lukasik enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.
