Tanning beds… do they pose a risk to your eyes?

Most people have heard the argument that tanning beds are dangerous for our skin. Skin is not the only thing that gets effected from UV exposure and our eyes are actually more sensitive then our skin. UV rays have the potential to create many types of visual problems and diseases particularly photokeratitis, cataracts, cancer, and even macular degeneration. When tanning it is extremely important to wear goggles even if they are not provided, UV rays still effect your eyes even if they are closed. So remember if you decide to use a tanning bed your skin is not the only thing at risk.
